The idea that our physical health is directly related to our emotional and spiritual health is a philosophy that predates as far back as ancient China. The existence of energy meridians, as applied in acupuncture and many if not all traditional Chinese medicine modalities, relies on the existence of qi, the subtle energy field believed to permeate all things, both physical and metaphysical. When we experience blockages in our energy field, we can experience both emotional distress and physical distress such as pain and disease.
Flower essences and homeopathy work on the same energy field, or qi, as acupuncture does. These modalities combat stress at its very first moment of interpretation.
For the deeper realization is that stress, or rather our interpretation of an event or stimulus as stressful, leads our bodies down a chain of reactions that, over repeated instances, causes harm to our well-being.
The use of affirmations, chants, mantra, prayer and the like have been utilized alongside similar mind-body-spirit medicinal modalities as a way to enhance well-being. To look at this example along the lines of traditional Chinese medicine, the use of repeated uplifting words would enhance one’s qi and stimulate a greater chance for overall health. This modality along with others such as acupuncture, flower essences and homeopathy essentially helps to reinterpret one’s relationship with stress, thus paving the way for a more harmonious, healthy existence (see our stress diagram).
Below are a collection of affirmations you might consider utilizing alongside your own particular wellness supplements or healing modalities, or surrounding areas of wellness that you want to focus on for your loved ones (children and pets included)!
You may repeat affirmations silently or aloud – both will achieve a noticeable effect over time. Each affirmation can be used to enhance any similar area of focus as listed below, or a similarly pertaining remedy or healing modality that you may be currently using.
You may notice that these affirmations often address the underlying emotional and spiritual concerns that can be associated with physical issues, which thus brings us back full circle to the opening topic of the importance of mind-body-spirit modalities.
